WELCOME AT LIFEGATE ACADEMY!
At Lifegate we base our pride in our youth, forging spiritual values, giving the much needed moralistic element to set the tone for young leaders of today's times, we believe home schooling gives us the perfect platform to do just that.
Learners receive more attention as the classroom groups are smaller.
The classes are grouped at a 10 to 1 ratio.
We like to call Lifegate home from home as it gives the atmosphere of being part of a family.
The program allows the learner who arrive at school early, to have breakfast with the school, we believe proper nutrition is essential to feeding the mind as it aids concentration. It is always a pleasure working with home-school students. You, as a parent, are more than welcome to speak the Tutor at your convenience. There is no waiting period or hassle trying to get hold of the Tutor.
A non-stressful environment where the learner is the centre of his/her own education. Each child works at their own pace All tasks are completed on the premises. All Tutors are and will be registered with SACE.
To our home-school your child is indeed a privilege and can never be measured with money!

LIFEGATE ACADEMY POLICY
It is important that you know who is responsible for the different aspects of this important phase and what the role and expectations of LifeGate Academy:
The final responsibility for the effective preparation for the tasks lies with the learner, and we encourage parents to provide the necessary support and encouragement.
Parents will always be informed by the tutors about the progress of their children and if the children are meeting the requirements.
LifeGate Academy offers support in the form of tutoring, preparation and encouragement to help learners to meet the requirements of the IEB standards.
The staff at LifeGate Academy will not assume the role of reprimanding learners when poor work is submitted.
It is not LifeGate Academy policy to explain or give any report back on tasks.
However, we are transparent and can provide results on request or it can be obtained directly from Brainline website using your student number.
The marked assessment/s (Task/s) stays the property of LifeGate Academy, Brainline. Learners or Impaq.
Learners will have to work hard as it is of a high standard.
All learners are of importance to LifeGate Academy and it is our mission to see each and every learner passes successfully.
There is currently a trend that candidates who struggle to function in a mainstream school due to poor academic results or problems with discipline want to enrol.
Home schooling and e-learning is viewed as an easy way out.
However, we have found that such candidates are even less successful in the Brainline system, as the IEB has a very high standard.
For this reason candidates must attend a 3 day pre-assessment and orientation at LifeGate Academy.
Study Methods
It is easy to underestimate the effort involved in sitting at a desk and studying.
You need both drive and energy.
Studying effectively takes time and good time management.
Establish a routine and keep to it – it reduces stress!
Stay motivated by constantly remembering the rewards that will be the result of this effort.
Keep your body healthy and fit: eat a balanced diet, avoid stimulants such as coffee and stay awake tonics, get regular sleep, and exercise.
Setting Goals
Short-term goals: It may be a good idea to use the deadlines of assignments as your short-term goals.
You could also divide the work with daily goals that will ensure that you complete an assignment before its due date Long-term goals:
Develop a vision of what you want to do.
Keeping your long-term goals in mind at all times will help you achieve your short-term Goals
Time Management
It is a general rule that evenly spaced, regular study is better than inconsistent, spasmodic bursts of effort.
You will achieve much more in 5 hours at one hour per day than in studying for 5 hours at one time.
It will help you to draw up an activity timetable to plan your day.
Try and work at times which will be most effective for you:
Some people work best early in the morning and others later in the evening.
Our attention span is approximately 45 minutes.
After that, our brain needs time to consolidate the material.
Any study longer than one hour should include a short break.
Plan activities completely free of study. Get a year planner (most news agencies keep them) and plan your year ahead.
Indicate deadlines and exam dates so that you can see that you are on course.
